I am not one who usually writes testimonials but in the case of Ross Joyner, The Piano Doctor, I am compelled to do so.  I have played the piano since I was a little girl and have had many piano tuners in my day.
I am very particular about how my piano sounds and feels and as a general rule I have to tell the tuners to tune the upper keys a little sharp.  When I said that to Mr. Joyner, he smiled and said that if the piano is tuned correctly, I would not need that.

I have to admit I was very skeptical but allowed him to tune it as he said but in the back of my mind I was thinking that I would have to have him back out in a short time span to re-tune with the upper keys sharp.
To my amazement, the piano sounded beautiful and stayed that way a long time.  I felt immediately comfortable and safe with him in my house and thoroughly enjoyed my tuning experience with Mr. Joyner.  I cannot say enough good things about how pleased I am with my piano and its sound quality.  Mr. Joyner, you are the best!

A Great HYPERLINK "http://www.pianodoctor.net/blog/piano-tuning-great-profession/"piano tuning will certainly help and preserve the finest tone quality from your piano. When your piano tuner comes on a regular basis not only will your piano stay in tune better, but you will help him feed his family. :-) Also as piano age they will need small amounts of voicing, regulation and in general very simple fixes.
If the piano is tuned on a regular basis your piano tuner is more likely to fix these things with no charge. The more years that pass the better the chance, that 2 or even more tuning adjustments may probably be necessary to restore the pitch to the correct degree of Concert A-440 pitch.
It is often my practice to bring the pitch back up to normal over the course of several tunings, specifically when it has dropped a step or more. Raising the pitch that much in one adjustment may cause damaged or broken strings. In this instance, it is impossible to provide a great high quality piano tuning, as the pitch will constantly slip, until the strings acclimate to the added string tension. When a piano is more than one full step down, it is generally better to ease it up to International pitch during several adjustments.

I will be happy to get together with you and establish a tuning routine for you and your piano. I keep a record of each of my piano tuning sessions in my computer system database, and generally send by email or call after a year has passed. If we can be of any help to you, feel free to give me a call. A little time on the phone is free :-)

I often have clients who ask how hard it is to learn to tune pianos. Perhaps this page on learn to tune pianos well help those interested in the challenges of
